Hambledon Flood Alleviation

Bus services in Hambledon from 22 June until further notice

While work is carried out on the Hambledon Flood Alleviation Scheme, First Bus Services X9 and 145 will terminate at Denmead Green and be replaced by a minibus shuttle service between Hambledon and Denmead Green, operated by Wheel Drive Ltd (tel 01730 892052).

    Shuttle buses will run from Hambledon West Street/Green Lane bus stop, turning at Old Barn Crescent, picking up at the B2150 bus stop opposite, and   returning along West Street to call at The Gardens bus stop.

Route: From Hambledon West Street/Green Lane, turning at Old Barn Crescent, then via West Street, Speltham Hill, Rushmere Lane, B2150, to Denmead Green bus stop, connecting there with First service 145/X9 journeys at the times shown below. Shuttle buses returning to Hambledon will serve the same route in the reverse direction, finishing at The Gardens bus stop and West Street/Green Lane.

Between Forest Gate, Uplands Road and Denmead Green the shuttle buses will serve all recognised bus stops.

Flat Fares between Hambledon and Denmead

Adult Single £1.40    Adult Daily Return £2.30

Child Single £1.00  Child Daily Return £1.40

Valid season tickets issued by First for travel from/to Hambledon are accepted on the shuttle service, including scholars’ season tickets ordered by Hampshire County Council. England National Concessionary Travel Scheme passes are valid on this service subject to the normal conditions of usage.

Hampshire County Council and First Bus company apologise for any inconvenience caused during this disruption to the normal service owing to these essential works.

We will do our best to keep you updated, however, if you have any questions please telephone 0300 555 1388. In addition, we will be providing a ‘One-Stop-Shop’ facility at the Village Hall on the 2nd Monday of each month between 3:30 and 6:00pm where you will be able to call in and ask us any questions about the scheme. The first of these will be held on Monday 8th June and we look forward to meeting some of you then.
